SYLVIA VALDEZ, DIRECTOR

Honest, Strong, and Independent are three words I use to describe myself. I am part of a second generation of Italian's born in North America. Daughter to Mrs. Victoria and Mr. Antonio Rotunno, I am a devoted mother of six and loving wife to Mr. Armando Valdez, President of World Quality Services in the US and World Class Quality Services, S.A de C.V. in Mexico.

I always encounter obstacles in my path and I welcome them, because I have always achieved my goals. I reside in the Rio Grande Valley, in South Texas and call Donna my home. I am the founder of Rotunno Productions, through which I direct and produce the annual Teen and Miss Rio Grande Valley Beauty Scholarship Pageant and I have others that I am working on. I began "Beauty for a Cause" as an outlet to raise money for children with financial needs against cancer, I am the only director in the valley presently doing this and I am very pleased. I say I am very pleased because there is always someone following me and duplicating my efforts, this means more persons are going to receive help and support in one way or another because of my ideas.

I enjoy participating in philanthropic activities and have many plans to help those in need. In 2007, I helped rais over $3,000 for a young girl in Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico to help alleviate costs in her fight against cancer. In December, over 100 gifts were donated by me, my local queens and primary sponsor to the Edinburg Children's Hospital. I donated over $2,000 to the Dricolls Children's Hospital at the "Fiesta de los Niños" annual fund raiser in hope to continue helping as many children as possible and making their lives a little happier. I am also an annual donor to Maryknoll, Fathers and Brothers, which is a part of the Catholic Foreign Missions Society of America, Inc..

I enjoy traveling, modeling, handcrafts, gardening, dancing, meeting new people, drag racing in my 425 HP Camaro Z28 or just cruising with the top down in my new Saturn Sky, I also enjoy just being a couch potato watching TV with my children or husband.
